If I had a church home, it would be whatever venue Daikaiju is performing in that night. Armed with lighter fluid, kabuki masks, and Reverend guitars, it is akin to an old-fashioned tent revival bathed in the Holy Ghost of Surf Rock. They label their performances as “attacks” and that’s an accurate description of the blatant assault one receives for an offering of around $25 at the door.

First emerging from the depths of Alabama in 1999, the great, mysterious beast known as Daikaiju pulls you inside its world and holds you captive for hours without a single word spoken. It is musical energy in its purest state; a give and take between the audience and the musicians until the lines are blurred and all become one.
